Formations
Your party is made of four characters. Usually the front two characters can melee and the back can two support.
There are two exceptions to this.
Melee weapons like polearms can be used from the back rank. They have the keyword Reach.
If the character in front is knocked out

Formation Changes
You can swap characters by dragging the portrait.
Notice the hands underneath the portraits have also swapped.
This can be useful if you have a character on low health that you want to protect.

Item Requirements
Most weapons and some items have a skill requirement.
For instance this spear requires the character to have the Two Handed skill at at least rank 3. If we try to equip it on the top right character (who does not have the skill at 3)
The left hand cannot be used because of the skill requirement
The right hand cannot be used because the weapon is two handed

Spell Casting
The two branches of magic are Sun and Moon. Spell casting requires a focus and enough mana.
The screenshot shows lots of spells, you'll only start with one. Additional spells can be found and learnt.
When you tap a focus in-hand a spell menu will pop-up, then tap the spell you wish to cast.

Levelling
Once you have enough XP gold arrows will appear on the character portrait and sheet.
If you click on the highlighted arrow you can then allocate another set of points as you choose. Note you can save points, you don't have to spend them all.

Starting Equipment
Initial items are determined by the characters highest skill, ties are broken by chance.
If for example both Bows and Moon are at 2, there is a equal chance of recieving either a starting bow or a moon (spellcaster) item.
